Heating and cooling across Portland
No heat? No cooling? We can usually get to you today.
Tell us what the system is doing and we will give you an arrival window on the call. You will know the diagnostic fee before we come out, and the price of any repair before we start it.
Services
Repair, replace, or keep it running
Most calls are the first one. The other two are what stop next winter being the first one again.
Repair
Something has stopped working, and it needs to work today.
We diagnose it, tell you what it costs to fix, and tell you honestly if fixing it is throwing money at a system that is nearly done. Most repairs are finished in the same visit; where a part has to come, you get the date on the day.
Best when the heat or the cooling has actually stopped.
Replacement and installation
A new system, sized for the house rather than the catalogue.
We measure the house before recommending anything — an oversized system short-cycles, costs more to run, and heats unevenly. You get options at more than one price, what each will cost to run, and what the warranty actually covers. Financing is available on replacements.
Best when a system is past fifteen years or repairs are stacking up.
Maintenance plans
Two visits a year, before each season rather than during it.
A tune-up in spring and autumn, priority scheduling when something does go wrong, and a discount on repairs. The point is unglamorous: most mid-winter failures were visible in October, and a system that gets serviced lasts materially longer than one that does not.
Best for anyone who would rather not find out in a cold snap.
How it works
You know the price before we start
The diagnostic fee is quoted when you book. Any repair is priced in writing before a tool comes out of the van. No hourly surprises.
Call
Tell us what the system is doing — or not doing. We give you an arrival window and the diagnostic fee before we hang up.
Diagnose
We find the actual fault rather than guessing at the likeliest one, and we show you what we found.
Price it, in writing
You get the repair price before any work starts. If replacing makes more sense than repairing, we will say so and show you the arithmetic — and if it does not, we will say that too.
Fix it, then check back
The work gets done, the site gets left clean, and we follow up to confirm the system is still behaving a week later.
About
The quote is the price
Nearly everyone has a story about a trade that quoted one number and invoiced another, or that condemned a working system because a new one pays better. It is the reason people put off calling until something has properly failed — which is always the most expensive moment to call.
The work here is built around removing that. The diagnostic fee is stated before the visit. The repair is priced before it starts. When a system genuinely has years left, we say so and fix it, because a customer who trusts the last invoice is the one who calls again in five years instead of searching from scratch.
FAQ
What people ask before booking
What does it cost to come out?
There is a flat diagnostic fee, and we tell you what it is when you book rather than when we arrive. It covers finding the fault and pricing the fix. If you go ahead with the repair on the same visit, the fee comes off the total.
How quickly can you get here?
Often the same day for a no-heat or no-cooling call, and we will tell you honestly on the phone if we cannot. During a cold snap or a heatwave everyone is booked, so an early call matters more than usual.
Should I repair this or replace it?
It depends on the age of the system, the cost of the repair, and what else is likely to fail next. As a rough guide, a large repair on a system past fifteen years is usually money better spent on a replacement — but that is a judgement about your system, not a rule, and we will show you the numbers either way rather than just telling you the answer.
Do you offer financing on a new system?
Yes, on replacements. A full system is a significant cost and very few people plan for the week it happens. We will go through the options and the actual terms with you before anything is signed.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Heating and cooling work is licensed trade work, and refrigerant handling is separately certified. Ask us for the details on the call and we will give them to you — anyone who will not is worth a second thought.
Call and we will tell you what it will take
